Frequently asked questions
Which dental cost calculators are available here?
You can calculate the cost of dental implants, all on 4, veneers, a Hollywood smile, composite bonding, crowns, root canal treatment, wisdom teeth removal and teeth whitening from your own quotes. There is also an Invisalign vs braces comparison, a Child Dental Benefits Schedule calculator, a payment plan calculator, a Turkey teeth cost comparison, a teeth chart and a live clock for the time in Turkey.
Why don't the calculators show average prices?
Healthdirect explains that there are no standard fees for dentists in Australia and that each clinic sets its own fees, so averages can easily mislead. The calculators work only with the amounts from your own quote or treatment plan, so you see what your plan costs and which items make up the biggest share.
Does Medicare cover dental costs in Australia?
Mostly not. Healthdirect says most dental care is not covered by Medicare. For eligible children, the Child Dental Benefits Schedule covers basic services up to $1,158 over two calendar years if 2026 is year one, or $1,132 if 2025 is year one. Our CDBS calculator shows what is left of your child's cap.
Do the calculators replace advice from a dentist?
No. They help you organise numbers and compare quotes. Only your treatment plan, the written quote and any agreement with your practice, health fund or lender are binding. Whether a treatment is right for you, and which option suits your teeth, is something to discuss with your dentist.
Can I compare an Australian quote with a quote from Turkey?
Yes. Run the implant, veneers or crown calculator once for each quote, then use the Turkey teeth calculator to add flights, accommodation and extra trips. Smartraveller notes that Medicare does not cover you overseas and that basic travel insurance rarely covers medical tourism, so check your cover first.
