Editorial policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

This page sets out how Hollywood Istanbul guides are written, checked, reviewed and updated. It applies to every article and tool on the site.

Who writes our guides

Articles are published by the Hollywood Istanbul editorial team. Some drafts are prepared with the help of AI writing tools; an editor then checks the structure, facts, sources and wording against this policy before publication. We do not present AI-assisted text as the personal experience of a dentist or a patient.

Sources

  • We prefer primary and official sources: Australian Government health and consumer sites (for example healthdirect, Services Australia, Smartraveller, the ACCC), professional bodies, regulators, and peer-reviewed research.
  • Sources are linked in the article. If a statement cannot be supported by a source we have checked, we remove it.
  • Prices: we only publish a price or price range when we can name the source and the month we checked it. Otherwise we explain what affects the cost and what to ask for in a written quote. We never publish discount offers or savings percentages.

Language we avoid

Because our readers are in Australia, we follow the spirit of Australian rules on advertising health services and on misleading claims. We do not use testimonials or star ratings, and we avoid unverifiable words such as “best”, “world-class”, “guaranteed”, “painless” or “top experts”. We describe risks and alternatives alongside benefits.

Our commercial relationship

The site is funded through a partnership with a dental clinic in Istanbul. Editorial decisions are made by the editorial team, and the clinic does not approve articles before publication. Details are on How we make money.

Dental review

Our dental reviewer is Uzm. Dt. Mehmet Anıl Tütüncüler, a specialist prosthodontist at our partner clinic. The review process is:

  1. The editorial team selects articles for review, starting with the guides readers use most.
  2. The reviewer checks clinical accuracy, whether risks and alternatives are described fairly, and whether anything could mislead a patient.
  3. The editorial team makes the changes, and the reviewer confirms them.
  4. Only then does the article show “Medically reviewed by” with the reviewer’s name and the review date.

Until an article has been through these steps, it says “Dental review: scheduled, not yet completed for this article.” We never add a review date to an article that has not actually been reviewed.

Updates and dates

Articles show the date they were first published. An “Updated” date appears when the content has been changed in a meaningful way, for example new information, corrected facts or removed claims. We check our most-read guides regularly and when official guidance changes.

Corrections

If you think something is wrong, please tell us. Our corrections policy explains what happens next.

Not medical advice

Our guides are general information. They are not medical advice and do not replace an examination by a qualified dentist.
